TENDAI KANDAYA
Tendai Kandya from Nkhata Bay credits the GALS program for helping him develop a clear vision for his life. With the support of his mentor, he turned his vision into a reality by starting a barbershop business. Through sheer dedication and perseverance, Tendai has grown his business, acquiring 8 machines and 2 glass tables. His entrepreneurial spirit has also led him to invest in two desktop computers, with plans to expand into printing and photocopy services, leveraging his ICT skills
Gift Kondowe
Gift Kondowe participated in GALS training in Nkhata Bay in 2021. After the training, he came up with a vision to do plumbing. He has achieved his goal of doing plumbing as he went to Technical College and got his certificate in plumbing. Currently, he is working on starting pig farming. In pursue of that, he has managed to buy 3 goats. He wants to advance his plumbing career by getting a diploma in plumbing.
Meria Sikwese
After the GALS training in Kasungu, Meria used the knowledge and skills gained to develop her vision to own a pvt clinic which will mainkly focus on antenatal mother’s. For her to achieve the vision, she needed to go for a nursing school of which she rewrote MSCE and got 25 points and got enrolled for a Certificate in Community Midwifery at Ekwendeni College of Health Science. As of now, she is searching for a job while doing Mobile money business so that she can fund for her further studies (degree in Nursing) for her vision to be successful.
Thokozani Chisale
Thokozani was trained in GALS in Kasungu. The time she received the training, she was working as an HAS. The training inspired her to aim high and she went back to school with the aim of getting a degree and having a better work so that she can be able to support her siblings and mother. After rewriting MSCE, she is now in her second year at Mzuzu University pursuing Bachelor of Education-Humanities.
Racheal Dumbani
My vision journey was set soon after the training in 2021.As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. It was not long ago that I set my vision to achieve academic excellence, aspiring to score below 20 points ( fortunately I scored 16 points) in order to gain admission to Kamuzu University Of Health Sciences. Today I stand before you as a testament to the power determination and hard working after the training where I used the tool of vision journey and am still using it. Achieving this vision has been a significant milestone in my life that has made me to be doing the career I have been dreaming of Nursing
