Youth Empowerment Towards Development (YETOD) is geared to drive community led development projects in Nkhata Bay by intentifying community-led projects and mobilising communities to take a leading role in the development by organising and contributing resources towards the projects. With different partners, including Mudzi Connect and International Movement for Community-led Development (MCLD) who champions shift the power programs through community foundations and CLD tool. We have been part of the journey and we are excited to be part of the Movement in Malawi.
In line with this, We are thrilled to share that we have received funding from Nederlands Albert Schweitzer Fonds (NASF) to construct under-five clinic in T/A Malanda, Nkhata Bay District The project will improve access and delivery of health services of under-five children through creating a safe and learning oriented conducive environment for service delivery. The clinic will integrate service provision to young people by accessing Youth Friendly Health Service (YFHS) weekly to meet the demand.
Using our model of Community Led Development, the project is a result of what the community identified as a need and they will take a leading role in the project by contributing resources towards the project and being involved in all the stages of implemention.
Looking forward to more and fruitful collaborations with NASF.
